Founded in 1981, Daintree is a national park in Far North Queensland, Australia and belongs to the World Heritage List. It includes 95kms of pristine tropical beaches and magnificent coastal rainforest.
One of the must-see destinations along the Daintee Coast is the Cape Tribulation. It was originally called by Aborigines as Kurangee and renamed Cape Tribulation later on.
In 1983, the Cape Tribulation was amalgamated into Daintree National Park. It has a population of only 103 residents and contains the oldest and continually surviving tropical rainforests in the world (over 100 million years old). There are eco-friendly accommodation is very inviting since it is located beautifully amongst the flora and fauna of the rainforest.
Activities include ½ day walk tours, night walks and 4-wheel driving, originally offered by Mason’s Tours. Visitors can also enjoy kayaking, diving, snorkeling, river cruises, zip lining and horse riding treks. There are also shops and restaurants at Cape Tribulation.
